Congratulations to the recipients of 2015-2016 B.K.Kee Foundation Scholarship. We would like to thank the B.K. Kee Foundation for their supports for education of the younger generation in Myanmar.

"My long term plan is to become a political educator for my country. I would like to share what I have learnt at HKU and in Hong Kong as much as I can via different media platforms and in person too. This is my dream job since I was studying in Burma. I will work for an NGO through which I will be able to share the knowledge I have gained to other people especially youths."

"After graduation from Chiang Mai University, I plan to work for an NGO working to improve education or community development in Myanmar, which will provide me with good working experience, skills, and knowledge towards becoming a well experienced trainer either for education or for other community developments. At the same time, I also plan to do further study/ master degree in the near future. After working for some time in the community, my educational goal is to continue my education in doing a master degree in some well-known university abroad."

"My ultimate education goal, as a social science student, is to apply my knowledge in people-oriented way to benefit the grass-root especially for the marginalized communities. As things are changing in Burma, there are many things about society to be researched in order to protect in terms of human rights, culture, livelihood of the people. To do so, the tactics have to be based on the needs and the circumstance of different society on different social issues and political situation in my State.

"I am studying Public Policy, Management and Politics program at City University of Hong Kong as an undergraduate student. I would like to improve my understanding in public policy, public management and politics of different countries. I also would like to better my intercultural communication skills, gain and apply different theoretical approaches to analyze issues in public affairs and the public management at the local as well as global levels. After studying at City University of Hong Kong, I expect to expend my educational and social networks through which I can help my community."

"I would like to make a difference in Myanmar, especially in the rural area, i.e., the Karen State, where there is an extremely low literacy rate, short life expectancy, bad quality of life, high level of corruption and human right abuses, and so forth. Because of these political, economic and educational situation, the lives of people in this region are insecure and at times they feel hopelessness. Thus, as a civic servant/worker, I can be a school teacher, economic analyst or even a politician to bring about changes in this area. I would like to apply all my skills and turn my dream into reality in the very near future."

"This opportunity to study landscape architecture at the University of Hong Kong has been one of the greatest things happening in my life. I hope to reach my dream of becoming a successful landscape architect, benefiting my native land. Being the only Burmese student studying at the Landscape Division of Architecture Faculty, I know that I am giving certain impression to my fellow classmates about my country. I do not want to give them any negative impression on my country. That is the motivation that has helped me to be more determined in my study at Hong Kong University."

"I am very passionate about becoming an educational consultant after I graduate from Hong Kong University. I have been doing volunteering jobs concerned with education such as giving environmental educational training, teaching English and organizing educational talk shows. Moreover, this summer, I have joined a volunteering program which teaches public speaking and English to pre-colligate students and high school students in Phaung Daw Oo Monastic High School in Mandalay. Furthermore, I am doing my internship as a project officer to arrange one of the educational exchange programs for Asean students in Asean Studies Center, Chulalarnkorn University in Bangok, Thailand. My ambition is to open my own education center in my home town and work as a guidance counselor for the people who do not have equal opportunities like the ones from urban areas."
