Over two days Thabyay held a training session for Civil Society Empowerment with 50 guests from 31 organizations and eight different regions within Myanmar.
The event was designed to help provide these organizations with capacity building, to strengthen partnerships between the different groups and Thabyay, also to open the groups to different opportunities through networking and sharing their experiences.
Of the ten workshops offered to the groups there were 6 focused on technical skills such as Project Cycle, Management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E, and strategic planning process, and the other four workshops were thematic such as: Human Right based approach to programming and conflict management and resolution.
Networking events were held on the final afternoon to help the attendees build specific networks that benefited their organizations, to help learn from their contacts and to further grow their own networks from Thabyay’s events.
After a short break representatives from each group presented their ideas to the different groups to help inspire one another from the group activities and the presenters personalities and commitment.
Those who attended were happy with the workshops mentioning, “Networking sessions helped build relationships and the organizations was efficient,” and also a call for Thabyay to continue organize events and continue to be an “agent of change.”
Thabyay is dedicated to enabling various education NGO communities throughout the country to self sustain and be able to contribute to their communities more effectively. Thabyay believe that organizations with more experience and capacity have a role to play in nurturing those with less experience so that we all can reach our full potential together.
