“No fear, no fear,
Breathe in the flowering place.
We don’t need to stay in the corner of the dark,
Sing down from heaven a simple sound,
We are all one in the world.
No one is big, and no one is small,
I feel the words like honey,
Be brave, and come out from the darkness.”
These words are not from typical class lectures given at the Kant Kaw School of Community Leadership and Social Studies. They are just some of the lyrics by students who attended the two-week song writing workshop known as “Discover Your Voices Within.” Sixteen students from the CLASS program were selected to attend this special Song Writing Workshop.

The workshop was led by a well-known American singer-actress Marnie Mosiman, who was an Artistic Director at the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Marnie has made many stage appearances, including Cloud 9 for the LA Stage Company in 1983. She also appeared in a New York stage production of A Little Night Music.
The six original songs composed by students who attended the two-week workshop were premiered at the closing ceremony on February 9, 2016 at Thabyay Education Foundation.
