Soon after completing her matriculation at BEHS 4, Taunggyi, Shan State, Hnin Nu Nu Lwin came to Yangon to join the University Preparation Program (batch 11) at the Kant Kaw Education Center. While at KKEC, she received a scholarship to join the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). She was one of the eight students from Myanmar who got the opportunity to study for a year in the United States in 2014.
“For one year, I called the Missouri State University Springfield campus my home. It was a great experience and a big challenge taking classes in Public Administration, Public Speaking and Global Studies, but the World Learning staff, who helped us with everything throughout the program, were very nice,” said Hnin Nu Nu Lwin.
I would like to urge students in Myanmar to seek out study abroad opportunities
You can’t compare experience you get from exchange program such as the Global UGRAD with anything else. It’s about time we explore the world and learn at the same time.”
