Ambassador MacArthur has dedicated much of her professional career to serving the interests of the Canadian people, both at home and abroad. She has done this by occupying various roles in Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focusing on global issues related to politics, trade, and security. This type of work has required her to work in collaboration with diverse peoples across the globe, in regions such as Australia, Asia, and Africa. Now, Ambassador Karen MacArthur has brought this experience to her role as Ambassador to Myanmar, where she has stressed her support for an inclusive peace process, one which respects the ethnic and religious diversity of our country.
Today we welcome Ambassador Karen MacArthur in both her capacity as the Ambassador of Canada to Myanmar and Chair of the Joint Peace Fund. Ambassador MacArthur, thank you for arranging your time so you can be with us and our graduates here today.
I am honored to invite you to deliver the commencement address to the inaugural class of the Peace Leadership and Research Institute at Thabyay Education Foundation.
