Conference for Teachers of English in Myanmar

Current Challenges and Future Directions

BACKGROUND:  Thabyay Education Foundation (TEF) is a leading national non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, develop, inspire, connect and empower individuals and organizations that are change-makers in Myanmar. TEF invites qualified and experienced national and international teaching professionals who are based in Yangon, Myanmar to participate in TEF’s first conference for English teachers on Saturday, 6th of May, 2017 , from 9 am to 5 pm, at Yangon University of Education Learning Hub on Tha-tone Street, Yangon. 

The theme of the conference is “English Language Teaching in Myanmar: Current Challenges and Future Directions.”  


THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE ARE:
  • to provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges and gaps in the implementation of English language teaching in Myanmar;
  • to stage a forum for interactive discussions to promote innovative classroom practices that can strengthen teaching and learning in current and future classrooms for teachers, teacher educators, and policy makers;
  • to foster network-building that will assist English teaching professionals in the future by sharing their case studies and information about English teaching.
